Pre-calculus is the advanced study of functions in preparation for the study of calculus. The course is divided (roughly) into two "semesters," a semester of advanced algebra and a semester of trigonometry, which is the study of triangles and functions associated with triangles.
Pre-calculus is a prerequisite for any study of calculus or other higher mathematics class a student may wish to study in high school or in college. The class is also a requirement for the Indiana Academic Honors Diploma.
